Local Development Framework (LDF)

New planning legislation introduced through the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 has resulted in significant changes to the planning system. Local planning authorities are required to produce a new plan (Local Development Framework) for their areas to replace existing Local Plans. The LDF for Surrey Heath consists of a portfolio of Local Development Documents (LDDs) that set out the future planning strategy for the Borough. These documents include:

Development Plan Documents (DPD)

A Development Plan Document contains detailed policies setting out key land use objectives, uses for specific sites or listing the criteria used to determine planning applications. The documents will help you to understand where new development will be built, why some may not be built and why we might approve or refuse a planning application you submit.

Supplementary Planning Documents and Guidance

SPD's provide additional guidance on matters covered by Development Plan Documents or the Surrey Heath Local Plan (Saved Policies 2007)
