What is the Camberley Town Centre Area Action Plan (AAP)?
Opens in a new windowThe Camberley Town Centre AAP will form part of the Local Development Framework for Surrey Heath and will set out policies relating to the future development of Camberley Town Centre.

The Area Action Plan will look at:

• A vision of how Camberley Town Centre should evolve.
• The scale and location of new shopping facilities.
• Managing the town centre to enable the full range of shopping facilities to be provided.
• The range of leisure, cultural and community facilities in the town centre.
• The level and location of employment uses such as offices in the town centre.
• The level and location of housing in the town centre.
• Improving transportation to and around the town centre.
• Enhancing and protecting the environmental design quality of the town centre.

A Preferred Options version of the document was produced in April 2008. Since then there have been changes to government guidance, the Core Strategy (now adopted) and the economy. In light of these changes the Council has reviewed the work undertaken for the Camberley Town Centre AAP and produced a revised Issues and Options document.

A consultation on the Camberley Town Centre Area Action Plan - Revised Issues and Options Consultation Document was undertaken from 5th March 2012 to 23rd April 2012.
