Special Protection Area Avoidance Strategy

Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area Avoidance Strategy Supplementary Planning Document

The Borough Council has adopted a Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area Avoidance Strategy Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). The SPD forms part of the Local Development Framework for Surrey Heath and updates the Thames Basin Heaths Interim Avoidance Strategy adopted by the Council in 2008.

The SPD was agreed for adoption by the Council's Executive on 4th January 2012. The SPD is available to view by following the link below or is available for inspection at the times and locations as specified in the Statement of Adoption.

The Borough Council, in consultation with the Environment Agency, English Heritage and Natural England determined under Regulation 9 of the Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations 2004 that Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) was not required for the Thames Basin Heaths Special Protection Area SPD. A copy of the Council's determination can be viewed below. This also determined that Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) was not required for the SPD.

A hard copy of the SPD or the SEA Determination may be obtained in Large print, Braille or foreign languages on request to the Borough Council by contacting 01276 707222 or by planning.policy@surreyheath.gov.uk

Tariff contributions for individual SANGs are not contained within the SPD but are set out in individual SANG documents, Details of the current SANG tariff contributions can be viewed at:
