Representation Form Guidance Notes

What Sort of Comments can I make?
All relevant planning considerations raised will be fully taken into account, although responses to individual letters, emails, faxes or telephone calls are not possible due to the many thousands of representations that we receive each year.

View the Surrey Heath Local Plan information.

Other relevant planning considerations include building relationships, overlooking, street scene, noise and disturbance after completion of development, scale and density of development, impact on trees and highway safety matters.  Matters such as loss of property value and boundary disputes cannot be taken into account.  All written representations received are available for inspection by the public, applicants and Councillors. If an appeal is lodged against a refusal any letters received are forwarded to the Planning Inspectorate.

Public Participation
The majority of applications are delegated to the Head of Planning, Development and Homes for determination.  Larger applications 2 plus houses, large commercial developments and some changes of use are considered by Members at the Planning Applications Committee.  In this respect the Council operates a public participation scheme allowing, in certain circumstances, an objector, applicant or amenity/residents society or association to speak at the Planning Applications Committee.  To be notified of the chance to speak, should the public participation scheme be triggered, a letter of objection must have been received by the Head of Planning, Development and Homes.  If you are objecting to this proposal then this communication will be taken into account for the purposes of the scheme.
