Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and New Homes
Buildings account for almost half of the energy consumption and carbon emission in the UK. The ways in which we light, heat and use our buildings all contribute to this.
Since the 6 April 2008, it is now a legal requirement to provide an Energy Performance Certificate for all new and newly built homes that are completed after that date.
Further advice on the requirements for new homes can be found in the following booklets:
The Building (Local Authority Charges) Regulations 1998 - Building Control Charges Scheme (No 12) Please note that in accordance with Regulation 12 of the above Regulations, the Council has amended its scheme of charges in connection with the performance of its functions relating to Building Regulations.
