Update
The Core Strategy will not be submitted in January 2007. The decision not to submit was taken by the Executive on 28th November 2006. The decision arises from concerns over the continuing inability of the Council to deliver new housing because of the risk of harm to the heathland caused by increased demand for recreation.
The Council is now reviewing the Local Development Scheme in the light of this decision. In addition, the government has introduced changes to the Development Plan Regulations. This means that the process will change and the effect of this is currently being assessed.
