1APP Planning Portal LogoFrom the 6th April 2008, the government will introduce a standard application form for the submission of planning applications across England, known as the 1APP form.

The 1APP form will replace application forms which local authorities currently produce themselves, and as such applications submitted from the 6th April must be submitted on the standard application form. This will become a mandatory requirement under the Town & Country (General Development Procedures) Order 1995.

Surrey Heath Borough Council will accept planning applications under the new 1APP system in hard copy from 19 February 2008; from 4 March it will be possible to download application forms and submit planning applications via the Planning Portal (www.planningportal.gov.uk) over the internet.

For help and assistance in completing the 1APP form, please see the Planning Portal Help Pages for each form (included in the 'Useful Notes and Supplemental Guidance' section of the page below), and/or visit the Planning Portal website. The following page provides further help The Planning Portal - Help.

Alternatively contact Planning Portal Support by telephone on 0117 372 8200.

The purpose of the standard form is to ensure a quicker, more predictable and efficient planning service, so that developments which require more than one type of consent under the planning regime can be applied for on one application form. There are 25 component parts to the 1APP form - View a full list of the forms available.

The Council's Executive agreed on 12 February 2008 to use the draft SPD as interim guidance until the SPD is formally adopted. As such, the local requirements MUST now also be adhered to.
