Business Details:

Probus,  an abbreviation of the words PROfessional and BUSiness,  is an Association of retired and semi-retired people who join together in autonomous clubs throughout the UK and around the world.   The Woking and District Probus Club (originally founded in 1972 as the Weybridge and Byfleet District Probus Club) is open to all men in the area who have retired or semi-retired and provides opportunities for fellowship and companionship by arranging luncheons and other social gatherings.

The Club organises regular luncheons at the Sutton Green Golf Club,  generally on the fourth Tuesday of each month, and normally including a talk by an invited speaker chosen from a variety of topics.  Typically the Club provides a donation to a charity chosen by the speaker.  In addition there are Summer and Winter Lunches to which spouses and guests are welcome,  and to which Associates - the widows of past members - are also invited.   There are also other social events including guests such as a Coffee morning in the spring and Wine and Cheese event in the autumn,  and Club visits may be arranged to places of interest.   All these events are charged at cost, and there is an annual membership fee of £15.  A Handbook is provided each year listing members and including a calendar of events.  The Club is managed by a volunteer committee elected at the AGM each year in April.

We cater for:

  • Adult Males
