Bin collection update - 16 August

Normal bin collection service resumed yesterday following the end of strike action by the GMB union that took place over the past fortnight.

All crews left the depot again this morning (16 August) and will be collecting all types of waste and recycling that are due on their usual collection day.

Please put all bins out as normal on your usual collection day. Please put any excess dry mixed recycling out in clear plastic sacks or cardboard boxes - please note however that wet cardboard cannot be collected.

Clear plastic sacks are still available for residents to collect for free from various locations across the borough. These can be used to temporarily store any dry mixed recycling that doesn't fit in the recycling bin. Up to six sacks can be collected on each visit.

Please report any missed collections via the JWS website(external link) and leave your bin out until it is collected.

Residents may still wish to take uncollected waste and recycling to their nearest Community Recycling Centre - there are sites at Wilton Road, Camberley and Swift Lane, Bagshot. You can find more information at Surrey County Council's Community Recycling Centre webpages(external link).

We appreciate that this has been a challenging situation for everyone, and thank you for your understanding and co-operation during this time.

Please also share this information with any neighbours who are not online.
