Surrey Heath Borough Council has received confirmation that to date 50 households in the Borough will be hosting Ukrainians as part of the Homes for Ukraine Scheme, and has prioritised those with guests arriving imminently.

Home visits are either completed or underway for the majority of our hosts.

As well as providing guidance and support to ensure everything is in place to make these arrangements a success, these visits also allow the opportunity to undertake the necessary checks regarding the suitability and safety of the property. DBS checks are also carried out on all adults in the host household for safeguarding purposes.

We are undertaking welcome visits to new arrivals from Ukraine, and we're working with partners to help our Ukrainian guests settle in to life in our Borough.

We'd like to thank all residents who have stepped forward to offer help and support to those fleeing for their lives from Ukraine. We're humbled by the generosity of the hosts we've met already, and the offers of support and welcome that residents across the Borough are sharing with us.
