Surrey Heath Borough Council has recently finished the completion of two new skate parks. The skate parks at Mytchett Recreation Ground and Crabtree Park in Camberley have been built in response to many requests from local skaters.
The parks feature half pipes, quarter pipes, jump boxes and grind rails. There are also opportunities provided for inline skating, boarding and bikes.
Michael Elkington, an enthusiastic biker who provided some useful ideas in getting the right type of equipment said, "I just want to say thank you on behalf of all the riders in the area for the Council's work on the Mytchett Skate Park. The jump box is exactly what we were looking for, and I have heard lots of positive comments from people using it."
Cllr. Pat Pearce, Portfolio Holder for Economy and Environment said, "I am pleased that the two skate and bike parks are now in use and that they will be enjoyed by everybody. It is good that both facilities will encourage youngsters to exercise in the open air and to keep fit."
