Call for photographers in bloom contest

Budding photographers and gardeners in Surrey Heath have three extra weeks to enter their pictures into The Best in Bloom photo category of Surrey Heath in Bloom 2010.

The category involves taking and sending in photographs of gardens, flowers or shrubs that brighten up the borough this summer.

The closing date has been extended to Friday 20th August and residents of all ages are encouraged to get snapping and enter their pictures.

Sponsored by Camberley Theatre, prizes on offer include a family ticket for four to its Christmas Pantomime, Aladdin.

Green spaces manager Leigh Thornton said: "All residents are invited to put forward their pictures of their front or back gardens, hanging baskets, potted plants, allotment or balcony. The contest is free to enter and we're looking for photos that highlight the creativity, enthusiasm and hard work that all go into making Surrey Heath an attractive place to live."
