Surrey Heath businesses and residents are encouraged to put forward their views on proposed landscape features which aim to improve the environment in parts of Camberley.
Business parks and industrial estates in the Yorktown area of the town and approaches to them from the London Road A30 and Blackwater Valley Road have been earmarked for improvements and regeneration in a document which is part of the new style Local Development Framework (LDF).
A draft of The Yorktown Landscape Strategy Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) has been prepared by Surrey Heath Borough Council and will set out design principles and provide a structure for landscaping across the area. It also aims to outline improvements to the quality of the landscape in the residential area to the west of Frimley Road.
Portfolio Holder for Economy and the Environment Cllr Patricia Pearce said: "This is an important document which will help shape the environment in and around the Yorktown area over the next 20 years. The Council welcomes feedback on the proposals in the draft document and would appreciate comments and suggestions from local people and businesses."
The new style Local Development Framework (LDF) is the Government's replacement for the old style local plan and will address issues up to the year 2026.
For more information about the draft SPD and a response form. Information can also be found by visiting any of the libraries in the Borough or calling the Planning Policy Team on 01276 707212, 707245, 707215 or 707211.
The consultation started on Monday, 13 November, and responses must reach the Council by Friday, 5 January, 2007.
