The Surrey Heath Sports Awards celebrated the best in local sporting achievement on Sunday 7 October at the Camberley Theatre, Knoll Road.
Organised by Surrey Heath Borough Council, the awards honour people from all over the borough who have excelled in sports including football, judo and netball.
Nominations were put forward by local clubs, coaches, schools and National Governing Bodies (NGBs).
The awards were attended by hundreds of players, coaches, volunteers and selected VIPs including Paralympians Martin Sinclair (football) and Helen Turner (basketball) who are both residents of Surrey Heath plus Olympic bronze medallist Karina Bryant who trains at Camberley Judo Club.
Cllr Craig Fennell, portfolio holder for Arts and Leisure said: ""The Surrey Heath Sports Awards is one of the most exciting and anticipated events in the borough calendar. It is a great chance to celebrate the achievements of local athletes, clubs, coaches and volunteers. Following a fantastic summer of sports with London hosting the Olympic and Paralympic games, this year's awards were even more special and memorable. Well done to all the winners and those who were nominated".
The winner of the Sports Awards will automatically be entered into the county-wide Surrey Sports Awards which are held in December.
