The sun has finally begun to shine in the borough and Surrey Heath Borough Council has a series of fantastic walks and fun activities in local parks and woodlands for all the family to enjoy!
If you've missed the open air events in June and July then there's heaps coming in August to keep you occupied.
River Chob Walk on Wednesday 8 August at 10am is a one hour circuit walk taking in the river, wildlife and their beautiful country surroundings. Meet at Chobham High Street Car Park and wear comfortable footwear.
Summer in the Woods on Sunday 12 August is your chance to join a Greenspace Ranger for a walk through the historic Chobham Place Woods. Starting at 11am, you'll discover magnificent trees, secretive wildlife and, if the sun shines, visit the nearby Round Pond to view dragonflies.
At 10am on Tuesday 14 August, wander around Minley Lake - a gentle, circular walk along mostly man made tracks through trees before skirting the lake. There are also two walks along Basingstoke Canal planned. On Wednesday 15 August at 10am, you can follow the river in this gentle hour long walk up to the lock-keepers cottage to spot wildlife. For a longer work out, join walkers on Sunday 19th August for a three hour hike up the North East of the Canal and enjoy a refreshment stop in Ash Vale.
All these walks are free and require no advanced booking, just turn up!
