Schools
Schools within the Borough can benefit from a wide range of educational facilities. Our popular "object-lessons" allow children the chance to experience at first hand what it was like to use a mangle, write with a quill or sound the alarm with an air-raid warden's rattle. Loan photographic displays and local history slide shows are also available, and the collections can also be used for other topics such as art appreciation or environmental projects. Handling sessions can also be arranged for disabled groups. Please contact the Museum Desk for a leaflet.

Photography
Our fascinating photographic collection traces many of the changes which have occurred over the last 120 years while the Local History Resource Library includes reference books, a selection of early maps, ratebooks, and directories and much other research material. Researchers, students, or visitors who simply want to walk down Memory Lane are all welcome to consult these resources, though for reasons of space, access has to be by appointment. Please contact the Museum Desk on 01276 707284.

Our Outreach Service includes a selection of slide shows which can be booked by local groups and societies (please ring for leaflet), special arrangements for out-of-hours visits by appointment, and a number of travelling displays, showing local historic photographs, which are available for loan to local organisations and fetes.

The Museum collection benefits greatly from the generosity of Surrey Heath residents. If you have items of local interest which you would like to donate to the Museum collection or photographs which you would be prepared to loan for copying, please contact us. If you would like to be more closely involved, why not join the Friends of Surrey Heath Museum, a thriving organisation which raises money for purchase and conservation through fund-raising events and outings.
