A golden year for Surrey Heath's sporting youngsters
Future sporting talent from Surrey Heath showcased their skills and scored a collection of bronze, silver and gold medals at the annual Surrey Youth Games on the weekend of June 18 and 19.

More than 200 competitors from the borough took part, with Surrey Heath Borough Council organising and entering a squad of 21 teams in 10 different sports.
The rainy conditions could not douse the spirits of the young people involved, who took part in athletic and sporting activities ranging from hockey to netball and boccia - a game for people with disabilities.
Surrey Heath won five gold medals in tennis, netball, boccia and two in football, as well as two silver medals awarded to the junior and senior Badminton teams.
Another highlight of the weekend was Surrey Heath's judo team securing a gold, silver and bronze to add to the boroughs impressive medal haul.
Overall Surrey Heath finished in fifth place out of the 11 Surrey boroughs taking part and more impressively, the squad topped the gold medal table by being crowned champions in six sports.
The Mayor of Surrey Heath Councillor Tim Dodds who attended the event said: "It was a fantastic Surrey Youth Games for Surrey Heath with so many children, parents and volunteers enjoying themselves over a weekend of outstanding sport. The Surrey Heath squad is to be congratulated on a superb result. Gaining an inspiring six gold medals is a reflection on all the hard work and commitment put into their training and performances."
