Surrey Heath Museum is a small, lively and attractively presented museum with
a busy programme of exhibitions & events. The collections range from paintings, photographs, maps, crafts, natural history specimeoys and domestic items.
These have been generously donated by residents during theyears to build up a picture of the area's character. For those who wish to find out more about Surrey Heath itself, The Heathland Story is told through a permanent display that traces the development of the area.
Alongside this is a gallery where a wide variety of temporary exhibitions are shown on subjects of local and regional interest. There is also an education service, including object-based sessions and talks for schools about what life used to be like in Surrey Heath and illustrated lectures for adult learners, groups and societies.
In addition, the Museum offers a regular programme of activites for children and families.The Museum
holds an extensive photographic collection and a local history resources library. Display copies of old
photographs with captions are readily accessible for visitors who wish to walk down Memory Lane and
are also available for loan to local groups. There is also a small shop that sells local history publications,
souvenirs and gifts.
The Museum is open Wednesday to Saturday 11am to 5pm (or at other times by appointment).
