Community gardening is a great way to get you fitter and feel better in a relaxed environment, ready to make new friends and learn new skills.
Surrey Heath's community garden Flourish are entering a garden into Hampton Court Palace Flower show in 2013. Working in partnership with the army wives group from Deepcut the plans, design, theme and application were accepted on 1 March 2013.
Our garden, entitled "A Moveable Feast" will be entered into the summer garden category which is described by RHS as; a fantastic chance for up-and-coming designers to experience a garden build without the pressure of completing a large Show Garden.
The entry into the flower show has already gained support from local residents and businesses and we will be applying for external funding. This means that this project will be inspiring, fun, memorable - and low cost to Surrey Heath Borough Council.

Flourish Community Garden at Frimley Lodge Park was filmed for ITV1's My Tasty Travels with Lynda Bellingham in 2012.
Community Garden leader Kate Turner has been working with the army wives group from Deepcut for several months and this was a fantastic opportunity to meet Lynda Bellingham and have the community garden featured as part of My Tasty Travels.
There are various other events throughout the year such as grow your own salad bowl, cut flower gardening, compost making and working with wildlife as well as seasonal events such as pumpkin carving. If you would like to get involved please contact us as there are a wide variety of tasks.
