Children's Play Areas

Play is essential to a child's physical and mental development.  Surrey Heath Borough Council encourages a healthy lifestyle through fun and play.

Surrey Heath Borough Council has 26 playgrounds, which are looked after by the Leisure Services Division. 11 of these are found in the Council's Parks and Recreation Grounds while others are to be found in various housing estates serving local residents.

There are other playgrounds in the villages of the borough provided by the 4 parish councils. As well as at:

• College Ride Playing Field, Bagshot,
• Chobham Recreation Ground, Chobham
• Clews Lane, Bisley
• Lightwater Playing Field, All saints Road
• Rosewood Way, West End
• Streets Heath Recreation Ground, West End
• Windlesham Field of Remembrance
• Dettingham Park, Deepcut

For older 'children' there are 3 trim trails at:

• Frimley Lodge Park
• Lightwater Country Park
• Crabtree Park

and skate parks at:

• Crabtree Park
• Mytchett Recreation Ground

Health and Safety Tips

• Parents / Carers are asked to ensure young children are effectively supervised in all playgrounds and parks
• Please keep dogs out of play areas
• Please take all litter home
• Respect the equipment - look after it

Bagshot
1. Albert Road, Connaught Park - Small toddlers play area on housing estate
2. Whitmoor Road - Play area next to community building

Frimley
3. Cheylesmore Park, off the Chobham Road - Small play area in the middle of this estate
4. Crab Tree - Skate Park
5. Evergreen Road [Hawthorn Road] - Serving housing estate, ages 3-14. Refurbished 2006.

Camberley
6. Old Dean/Upland Road - Playground serving new estate with equipment for all
7. Lorraine Road - New playground being constructed as part of new housing development
8. Orchard Way - A local play area, ages 3-10
9. Bentley Copse, Amber Hill off Upper Chobham Road - Small playground on central open space, ages 3-10
10. Kingshurst, Maquire Drive, Heatherside - Small toddlers playground on open space, ages 3-10

Lightwater
11. Briars Centre, Briar Road - Playground behind the centre, ages 3-10

Mytchett
12. Loman Road/Rorkes Drift - A larger playground with kickabout, soccer and basketball goals, ages 3-14

16. Frimley Green Recreation Ground, Frimley Green Road - Larger playground divided into Toddler and Junior areas, ages 3-12
17. & 18. Frimley Lodge Park, Sturt Road, Mytchett - [Two play areas] Large playground with a variety of equipment including aerial runway, ages 3-14
19. Heatherside Recreation Ground, Cumberland Road - Large playground with a good range of equipment, ages 3-14
20. Lightwater Country Park, The Avenue - Large Adventure Playground with 'Trail Blazer' equipment
21. London Road Recreation Ground, Grand Avenue, Camberley (adjacent to Arena Leisure Centre) - Playground with fun images within the safety surface
22. Mytchett Recreation Ground, Hamesmoor Road - Junior and toddler provision with bark surface, ages 3-12 - Skate Park
23. Old Dean Recreation Ground, Wimbledon Road - Playground next to small BMX track, ages 4-14
24. Watchetts Recreation Ground, Park Road - Ages 3-14
25. Woodend Road Recreation Ground, Deepcut - Playground with something for all, ages 3-14
26. Wellington Park, Portsmouth Road, Camberley - 2 small toddlers playgrounds, ages 3-7 on new estate
