Conservation and Volunteering The Lightwater Country Park will be launching its Conservation Season as of September. This will be followed by the Conservation programme through the winter. During the months of October through to February the Rangers will be running weekly conservation tasks, usually on Tuesdays or Thursdays. The priority for these task days will be clearance of invading birch and pine scrub from heathland areas, though there may be additional one-off projects such as fence and stile building and path improvements. In addition to public involvement, the Rangers will also be assisted during the conservation period by work experience students from schools and colleges from throughout Surrey. If you are interested in wildlife or just crave fresh air and exercise and have some spare time, why not come along and help the Rangers with this vital conservation work? | |
