The Mall logo Award-winning local architects, Lyons Sleeman Hoare, were appointed for the complex project. Quality building materials have been used throughout, to complement the classic architectural design. A staggering 7,000 square metres of glazed roofing were used in the construction of The Mall Main Square. Elaborate and decorative ironwork, balconies and balustrades, opaque glazed roofing, mosaic-tiled flooring and detailed moulding all combine to create an elegant Victorian atmosphere.

Gentle hues of green, blue, beige and cream have been used throughout the centre and, together with extensive landscaping, including tropical palms and trailing plants, offer a pleasant atmosphere in which to shop.

There are also many helpful facilities designed with parents, young children, elderly and disabled people in mind.

These include a baby change and feed room in Cambridge Square which provides a pleasant and hygienic environment for parents to care for their children when out shopping.

Electronic doors at all the centre's principal entrances, together with ramps, give easy access for disabled and elderly people as well as for parents with baby buggies.

Climate controls keep The Mall Main Square's temperature comfortable and there are plenty of seats around the centre, positioned in beautiful, planted areas.

A network of 20 state-of-the-art plasma screens bring local information direct to shoppers. The back-to-back screens have been installed to show the latest offers from retailers, exciting events taking place at The Mall Main Square and national news and weather updates.
