Disabled Facilities Grant

If you or someone living in your home is disabled you may qualify for a Disabled Facilities Grant. This is a means tested grant to help towards the cost of adaptations to your home.

The grant helps with funding for facilities including:

  • access to and from your home
  • scooter stores
  • stairlifts
  • door widening
  • replacement of baths with level access showers or wet rooms
  • ground floor facilities
  • improvements to lighting and heating

To find out what is needed, the Council must consult with an occupational therapist. An occupational therapist will visit the disabled person to agree what works are needed to help them live safely in their home.
