I want to report a faulty street light. Whom do I contact?

Question

I want to report a faulty street light. Whom do I contact?

Answer

Firstly, note the column number (painted number on column itself, about 6 ft up column) and street name where it is. If there is no number visible then note the nearest property address. An accurate location is vital because to reduce costs, the maintenance contractor will usually check the fault in daytime when all the lighting is normally off. Please report this to the Highway Authority Surrey County Council Local Transportation Service located at 2 London Road Bagshot, GU19 5HN. Street light failures are not considered urgent - call during office hours on 0300 200 1003 or report it online using the link below.
The entire street lighting stock is regularly checked after dark and faults picked up but these checks are periodic and failures occur in between. Additionally, 'day-burners' will not be located on these checks.
