I am selling my house and need a completion certificate, how do I get one?

Question

I am selling my house and need a completion certificate, how do I get one?

Answer

Please contact Building Control in the first instance. If a Completion Certificate has already been issued, a charge may be made for any additional copy.

If a completion inspection has been carried out and all works comply with the Building Regulations, we will issue you with a Completion Certificate.

However, on many occasions, such an inspection may not have been requested. Should this be the case, it will be necessary for you to arrange access for us to carry this out. Subject to the works complying with the Building Regulations, we will issue the Certificate.
