Food Waste

All Food Waste ContainersFood waste is collected every week.
Households have been provided with a silver caddy for indoor use and a dark-green container for collection by the crews.

Your dark green collection caddy should be at the edge of your property by 6am on collection day.

It is for cooked and uncooked food waste. Please do not include any liquids

Can I line my caddy?

Yes. Compostable liners are an easy way to keep you caddy clean

Alternatively, newspaper can be used as a lining material.

Where does the food waste go?Once the food waste has been collected, it will be transported in large quantities for processing. Anaerobic Digestion (AD) and In-Vessel Composting (IVC) are both processes that can be used to turn food waste into electricity & soil conditioner and compost respectively.
