Top Tip
Shredded paper will soak up any excess moisture and it's a brilliant way to recycle your confidential documents! This particularly helpful in the summer when your compost is likely to have more wet ingredients such as fruit peel and grass cuttings and is it risk of becoming slimey.
Cooked food waste cannot be easily composted using a conventional composter.
Surrey Heath operate a weekly food waste collection that enables both cooked and uncooked food waste to be recycled. This is part of the Recycling and Refuse Collection Service.
