Green Waste Club

 

 

 

 

Surrey Heath Borough Council has been working with municipal services contractor, Verdant Group, to offer an efficient scheme for collecting and recycling garden waste in the Borough.

The Green Waste Club was launched in August 2006 and since then over 2000 residents have joined the scheme and between them have diverted over 1280 tonnes (to end Sept 2008) of green waste from landfill.

Verdant collects the garden waste and takes it to be composted at a local composting facility, reducing the amount of waste taken to landfill. Helping Surrey Heath Borough Council improve its recycling rate, remove waste from going to landfill, and contribute to a cleaner, greener local environment.

The Green Waste Club costs just £55 to August 2009.
