Position

find the right position in your garden for the composter

Find the right position for the composter
A composter is best sited on soil in a reasonable sunny spot so that worms and other valuable creatures can move in and start work!

Recycle Now provide help and advice about locating a composters

Remember: Some sun and soil = Warmth and Worms!

Ingredients

compostable Kitchen Waste

Add the right ingredients
Balancing 'green' (wet) and 'brown' (dry) ingredients is the key.

Add quick rotting 'Greens' for nitrogen and moisture
and
slower 'Browns' for carbon and fibre

 

For cooked food waste that cannot be easily composted using a conventional composter


If you do not have space for a composter you could:

Mix 'green' and 'brown' and keep landfill down
