Last year (2006/07) Surrey Heath residents enabled about 6.4 million aluminium & steel cans to be recycled by using the kerbside collection scheme of by taking their cans to a recycling site.

Recycling metals such as steel and aluminium saves not only significant amounts of energy but helps to reduce the amount of ore mined to make virgin material which all helps to preserve our natural environment.

You CAN CAN reduce the amount of legwork by squashing your cans- this means less trips to the recycling site for you and less trips for our lorries too!
