Pest Control Information
Surrey Heath must make sure that the neighbourhood is kept reasonably free from pests. By "pests" we mean rats, mice or insects.
What you can expect from us
You are responsible for dealing with any pests which you find on your own property. Surrey Heath provides a pest control service for which there is a charge for this service. There are strict controls on how the council can destroy pests.
If you suspect there are pests in a neighbouring property you should first approach the owner. If your neighbour refuses to take action you can complain to us. We can inspect the property, clear up the problem ourselves and charge the owner for this. Surrey Heath must keep pests under control on council-owned property.
