Environmental Objectives and Targets
Objectives and Targets
One of the Council's key objectives is to protect and manage the environment. We have set ourselves a number of targets between now and 2011 to help us achieve our objectives for the environment.
1. By protecting, managing and maintaining the attractive environment. Keeping the Borough clean (page 5 of the Corporate Plan)
Adopt a strategy with key partners for the long term management of waste following wide consultation and community involvement - Target 2011
Adopt a strategy to develop and improve waste collection and recycling (page 6 of the Corporate Plan)
2. In partnership develop a sustainable transport strategy for the Borough by March 2007 to encourage alternative methods of travel other than by car - Target 2007 (page 15 in the Corporate Plan)
