What does Housing and Council Tax Benefit provide help towards?

Housing Benefit provides help towards payment of rent. If your claim is paid under the Local Housing Allowance rules a flat rate allowance is used that ignores any other charges you may have to pay. If you do not fall within the Local Housing Allowance Scheme your help may have a reduction for services such as water, gas, electric, meals or laundry if these are included in your rental charge.
