Home Page
The home page of the Surrey Heath website provides links to all sections together with movable feature boxes that can be customised to your requirements through registration to the site.

There are two navigation or menu areas on the screen. At the top of the screen, there is a banner menu with links to accessibility options, A-Z of services and the site search facility. There is also a top navigation bar that links to key information such as Contact Us, FAQs, News and Events.

The main navigation area is on the left hand side and includes the headings of Advice & Benefits, Arts & Leisure, Business, Community & Living, Council & Democracy, Education & Learning, Environment & Waste, Housing, Planning & Building and Transport & Streets.

Web Site Map
This option is located on the bottom footer of all pages and provides a full index of all the topic areas available within the site, similar to an index of a book.

Search Facility
A comprehensive search facility is provided at the top right of all pages. Search results are broken down into categories so it is easier for the user to see what they are looking for.

Accessibility
Surrey Heath Borough Council have designed this site to be as accessible as possible to all our citizens. The Surrey Heath web site is compliant with Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines of the Web Accessibility Initiative.

Some users with certain visual impairments may find that the default text size of websites make them difficult to read. All of the text elements of the Surrey Heath site can be expanded by making use of browser functionality. Click on the Accessibility link on the top navigation bar for further information, or alternatively view more accessibility information. 

Language Translation
The content of web pages can be translated into a number of other languages using Online Translation tools such as AltaVista's Babel Fish, Google Language Tools, SDL International's Free Web Translator and Translation Booth.

Breadcrumb trail
Below the top navigation bar will appear the "You are here" facility which shows you exactly where you are in the Surrey Heath Borough Council web site. You can click on any elements of the breadcrumbs trail to go back to a previous page.

Printable Page
All pages with the exception of the home page have the facility to print the page to a printer, without the left and top navigation options to provide a clearer printout. To re-display the page with the navigation bars, simply click on the Browser back button.

If you have a query about a particular item on a page or you have found an error in the information contained on the page, this link can be used to forward your query or comment to the appropriate person at the Council.
