Employment at Surrey Heath

Surrey Heath Borough Council employs around 290 staff, serving a population now approaching 87,000. There are also a number of opportunities for temporary and casual staff.

A variety of employment opportunities are covered, such as leisure, parks and open spaces, planning, environment, health, community services etc.

The Council offices are located in the centre of Camberley, about 5 minutes walk from Camberley Railway station. A number of bus routes also serve the town centre.

Surrey Heath is predominantly a residential area, covering a blend of modern town centre shopping facilities and attractive rural villages, although Frimley and Camberley have expanded rapidly in recent years as a result of light industrial and high technology developments. The Borough is also important both as a military centre and for nursery and market gardening.

Communications are excellent, the Borough being served by the M3 motorway, with two access points and the A30 creating easy links to London and the West Country. Local access to both the M4 and M25 brings Heathrow and Gatwick Airport, plus the national motorway networks, within easy reach.
