Approved Contractors and Suppliers List

What is the Approved List?

The Approved List is a register of Contractors and Suppliers who meet the standards necessary to be considered for work by Surrey Heath Borough Council. The intention of the list is twofold: to ensure that all businesses awarded Surrey Heath Borough Council contracts meet the necessary standards and also to maintain a searchable database that Surrey Heath Borough Council can use to find businesses and consultants for upcoming work which falls under the EU threshold.

When Council Departments require works to be carried out under EU thresholds they will use the Approved List to obtain the names of suitable firms that they can approach to tender. Parties who tender are mainly chosen by rotation from the list, although Council officers are able to nominate companies based on their previous quality of work and tendering performance.

How do you join the Approved List?

Companies that would like to be included on Surrey Heath Borough Council's approved Contractors and Suppliers list. Should express their interest in writing by sending an introductory letter or email and relevant company information to the:

Application process and assessments

Applicants expressing interest will be sent a Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) form to complete, which should be returned to Surrey Heath Borough Council at the details above.

Completed Pre-Qualification Questionnaire forms will then be assessed to determine the suitability or non-suitability of the applicant to be placed on the Approved Contractor & Supplier's list.

Suitability will be assessed on the information provided in the completed Pre-Qualification Questionnaire form and on References provided. Please provide as much information about the type of service you provide, and wherever possible provide supporting evidence to demonstrate your ability and experience to carry out the service.

Continued membership of the list is conditional upon maintaining adequate and up to date Public and Employers Liability insurances.

Please note: the Approved List is not a Preferred Supplier List or a guarantee that companies will be invited to tender or awarded a contract.
