Web Site Statistics 2007

Unique Individuals

How are the unique visitor statistics calculated?
At the start of this year, Surrey Heath Borough Council changed the way it calculates the unique visitor statistics to move more closely in line with Government priority outcome R26. The figure used for unique users can now be better compared from month to month to provide an insight into usage levels of the site.

What does a unique user figure mean?
This figure represents the number of unique visitors to the Surrey Heath Borough Council web site during the relevant period. This means that any visitor who has already been to the site during this period is not counted again.

One unique visitor is identified by a combination of IP address and user agent id (a string identifying a browser or agent accessing a web page).

The graph below shows the number of unique individuals per month for 2007.
