Open Data

The government has emphasied its commitment to Open Data in the Smarter Government paper published in December 2009 and has set up the Local Public Data Panel Opens in a new window to oversee the release of local public data.

Below is a list of datasets that Surrey Heath Borough Council has opened up to allow developers and website owners to access data held by the council. More data sets will be added over time. Data is licenced under the Open Government Licence Opens in a new window unless otherwise stated below.

If you build any systems using the data then please contact us. We would love to hear how this data is being used.

KML is a form of XML which is used to provide geo-spatial mapping data.

The KML and KMZ files can be opened by Google Earth or in Google Maps by copying and pasting the URL into the search box or they can be saved and then opened as XML.
