02 September 2010
Please note: If you need to see a member of the Licensing section, they will only be available between the hours of 10.00am and 12.00 noon and 2.00pm and 4.00pm.
The Licensing Act, 2003 combines licensing functions that were formally undertaken under six different licensing regimes. This means that one licence can now cover a number of licensable activities, all of which previously had to be licensed separately.
Some procedures may appear to be complicated but, overall licensing has been simplified and the need to renew a number of licences annually, some times by attending at a magistrates' court, has been removed.
