Information gathered from those who visit our website is held in accordance with the Data Protection Act. "Personal data" is held by this Council in order to provide, and improve, our services to you. As a processor of personal data, Surrey Heath Borough Council is required to comply with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998. This requires, amongst other things, that data is processed lawfully and that personal data is kept for no longer than absolutely necessary. Computer-generated data and some types of manual data are covered by the provisions of the Act.

If you would like to find out if this Council holds information about you, please make your request using the downloadable form Data Subject Access Request. You should return the completed form to the Data Protection Officer together with the fee of £10.00. Cheques should be made payable to Surrey Heath Borough Council. Under the Data Protection Act, as a data subject you are entitled to ask whether we hold any information about you, for what purpose, the names of the organisation to whom it is disclosed, to ask for a copy of the information, to have any incorrect information corrected.

Electronic Forms
For your convenience, where possible we offer you the opportunity to use online electronic forms which can be submitted to the Council. Where this contains personal information, this will be held securely, only for as long as is necessary, and will only be used for the purpose indicated, unless your prior permission is sought.

Downloadable Forms
Some forms are on the website as downloadable forms and these can be printed off and sent to the Council Offices.
