Moira has lived in the local area all of her life, spending the past 26 years in Windlesham.
Moira has been a governor at Windlesham village school, involved with the community care home and was a parish councillor before being elected to the borough in 1991.
For the past nine years Moira has been leader of Surrey Heath Borough Council and has been instrumental in many of its successes.
In the village, Moira has secured funding from the council for St Johns church, Chertsey Road hall, Windlesham club and the field of remembrance. As a local councillor she has worked to stop excessive building in the village and to represent the views of villagers on planning applications and in particular has supported opposition to recent flatted development proposals in Snows Ride.
