I moved back into the area five years ago, after 35 years of Army service. I lived in the RMAS, Camberley as a child, in the 1950s; attended a course, as a young soldier in Blackdown Camp in 1968; and, was a student at the Army Staff College in 1982, living in Matthews Road.
I applied to become an Independent Representative with Surrey Heath Borough Council because I am keen to be of use to my local community, to 'lend my shoulder to the wheel', and it suited my aim to remain independent/a political.
I was a very enthusiastic and reasonably accomplished sportsman, but age dictates I am now an avid spectator and supporter of almost any sport; I am fortunate to be an Honorary Steward at Twickenham. I am also the part-time Secretary of a military charitable trust and a full-time husband, father and grandpop.
