e-Governance is a key Government initiative that aims to use new technologies to deliver better quality and more accessible services, e-procurement targets have been set in the National Procurement Strategy. The Council has an ongoing e-Procurement Strategy which will introduce delivering electronic ordering of goods and payment to suppliers, resulting in improved efficiency and a reduction in costs for the Council, and for those who do business with us.
Surrey Heath have developed cost effective methods of delivering e-procurement and have worked with a number of suppliers to implement low cost on-line ordering and e-payment solutions. Surrey Heath will use e-procurement tools that are appropriate for its size and business fit.
The following e-procurement tools are used:
- Purchasing cards
- BACS payments
- Supplier hosted web catalogues
