The Atrium Update

The Atrium update 6th June 2008
Construction is progressing well on the site and generally in accordance with the contractors timetable. Centro is complete. Multi-storey is well advanced with the concrete frame complete. Flats in the South Court area are well progressed. Zavvi, Sports world, Next and Laura Ashley are now open.

Marketing Suite is now open. Thames Valley Housing Association will have a Marketing Suite for 2 years in Park Street in the near future.

The Roof Frame is a significant feature of the development which was completed at a topping out ceremony on April 30th. Roofing work has commenced.

• Development Commenced - September 2006
• Terrace Block (Centro) Flats - October 2007
• Park Street Pedestrianisation - Summer 2008
• Public Art completed - Summer 2008
• Retail Units - Blocks A & B, Park Street - Ongoing from Spring 2008
• Multi-storey Car Park - July 2008 but opening in November 2008
• North and South Court Flats - May to November 2008 (in stages)
• Vue Cinema - November 2008
• Bowlplex Unit - November 2008
• Southern Link Road to be known as Charles Street - November 2008
• Completion of Atrium - November 2008

Highways Update

Southwell Park Road
The footway on north side linking Toucan to Park Street should be open by the end of June.

Southern Road
Works in Southern Road are substantially complete - including landscaping.

London Road
Works to construct the new junction of London Road and Park Street is complete.

The junction of Lower Charles Street and London Road is substantially complete. The traffic lights will be switched on in due course.

Park Street
Block paving in Park Street is nearly complete. Bollard arrives in Park Street by the end of June. Installing street furniture currently. The art is under construction.

Pembroke Broadway
The subway has now been taken out of use. Currently working on anti-skid road markings and new bus shelters.

Charles Street
The new section between Lower Charles Street and Southwell Park Road is called Charles Street. Completion Autumn 2008
