The challenges facing the Council are:
- Maintaining Surrey Heath as a pleasant place to live, work, do business and enjoy leisure
- The improvement of Camberley Town Centre following the completion of the Atrium.
- The replacement of the Arena Leisure Centre
- Improving waste management, particularly recycling, in line with the new waste contract due to be introduced during 2009
- Addressing the situation around Special Protection Areas (SPAs)
- Preparing the Local Development Framework to achieve sustainable land use patterns and to prepare for sustainable construction
- Improving planning services for residents and businesses
- The provision of key worker affordable housing
- Planning for demographic change
- Tackling localised traffic congestion
- Enabling partners to deliver services from the Contact Centre
- Meeting the need for services from limited resources
- Recommendations from the Strategic Housing Inspection 2007
