Community transport

We provide a door-to-door transport service to appointments, facilities and social activities in the local area, for older residents and those with a disability.

Who can use the service

Our service is for residents who are unable to access public bus services. This may be for reasons such as a physical, sensory or learning disability, frailty, mental health problems or unavailability of bus services.

Our fully accessible vehicles allow easy access for all our passengers. All of our vehicles can carry individuals who travel seated in their wheelchair. Our fully trained drivers can assist passengers as required.

Operating times

The service operates Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm, giving users the flexibility to travel when and where they want to go.

How to book

We work with Runnymede Borough Council to provide this service.

Before booking your first journey, you need to sign up to our free of charge membership. To register, please complete community transport registration form on the Runnymede Borough Council website (external link).

For urgent transport requirements please contact our Community Transport team using the details below.

Once registered, you can book a journey by emailing communitytransport@runnymede.gov.uk (link sends email) or call 01276 707655. You can book your journeys a maximum of six days in advance.

Paying for your journeys

The cost of each journey will be calculated when you book and payment options will be offered. Our journeys are competitively priced, providing affordable transport for you. Carers are able to travel as a companion free of charge. Unfortunately we are unable to accept concessionary bus passes.

Social trips and outings

We run a number of regular trips and outings for users of the service to local places of interest. We can also organise return transport for those that wish to attend our Windle Valley Centre.

For hire

Are you a not-for-profit organisation who needs help with transport to group activities or trips?

For example if you’re a local community group, housing association or voluntary organisation which transport groups to local destinations, our Community Transport buses are available to support you with your transport needs.

Our fully trained drivers and accessible vehicles can be hired for your journeys at competitive rates.
