Image of the Tune In logoIn the financial year 2007/08, Surrey Heath Borough Council worked with its partner agencies to pilot three Tune In Neighbourhood Improvement Workshops in the borough. Tune In is currently being evaluated by Surrey Heath Borough Council.

Background

The idea of the Tune In workshops was to give residents the chance to talk about the issues which concern them, and to work with each other and local agencies to find solutions.

The first pilot Tune In workshop was for residents of Mytchett and Deepcut and was held on 22 May 2007. A successful turn-out from residents and community organisations has led to greater community involvement in addressing neighbourhood concerns.

A second Tune In workshop, for residents of Bagshot and Windlesham, took place at Bagshot School on 14 November 2007. The event saw more than 100 residents, borough, county and parish councillors, as well as officers from the Tune In partner agencies, getting together to talk about how to improve community life in the two Image of the Tune In workshop May 22nd 2007villages.

The third Tune In workshop - for residents of Frimley and Frimley Green took place on 27 March at Cross Farm Infants School, Gresham Way, Frimley Green, Surrey GU16 6LZ, between 7pm and 9pm. Eighty-six residents living in Frimley and Frimley Green attended.

The Tune In partners are Surrey Heath Borough Council, Surrey Police, Surrey County Council, Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, Surrey Primary Care Trust and Surrey Police Authority.

The Tune In brand and related artwork was developed by Woking Borough Council and Surrey Police. It is reproduced here with kind permission of these organisations.
