The Council provides two centres which give Older People the opportunity to meet others, enjoy lunch and refreshments and participate in a range of activities which include:

  • Exercise Stretch Tone and Relax
  • Line Dancing
  • Manicures
  • Painting
  • History
  • Crafts

There are also a number of additional services operating at the centres. These services are open to the public and are not specifically for older people or members of the centres:

The Ian Goodchild Centre and Windle Valley Centre are managed directly by Surrey Heath Borough Council and offer:

  • A lunch prepared on the premises
  • The opportunity to get out, meet people and make friends
  • The option to take part in a wide range of interesting activities including crafts, painting, exercises, dancing and history
  • A small shop that sells stamps, some food/household items and sweets
  • A friendly atmosphere in which to benefit from the care and support provided by staff
  • Professional counselling, chiropody and hairdressing services
  • Personal care including staff assisted "Parker" bath facility
  • Trips out whenever possible, including some weekends
  • Advocacy
  • A break for carers
  • The chance to take part in regular customer reviews to ensure quality in service provision
  • Transport is available for customers at both centres
  • Refreshments - available all day for drop in visitors
  • A venue for hire in the evenings and at weekends
