As part of the changes to Community Services, the council has made the decision to increase the operational times of Windle Valley Centre to 5 days a week, Monday to Friday (formerly 3 days a week Tuesday to Thursday).
Open to all older people, the centre will offer a priority service to customers in the greatest need and/or reduced mobility.
The Windle Valley Centre is managed directly by Surrey Heath Borough Council and offers:
- A 2 course lunch prepared on the premises
- The opportunity to get out, meet people and make friends
- Transport
- Refreshments - available all day for drop in visitors
- The option to take part in a wide range of interesting activities including crafts, painting, exercises, card games and history
- Services such as podiatry, manicures and hairdressing
- A friendly atmosphere in which to benefit from the care and support provided by staff
- The provision of personal care to those who may be finding it difficult to manage
- A bathing service
- Access to District Nurses who can call at the Centre to provide treatment
- A service to clients in critical or substantial need who are referred as part of a care package by Social Services
- Trips out whenever possible, including some weekends
- Advocacy
- A break for carers
- The chance to take part in regular customer reviews to ensure quality in service provision
