Surrey Heath Borough Council measure performance throughout our services in order to know how well we are doing and to identify opportunities for improvement.
Working alongside the audit commission, the housing needs service identify targets and measure improvements on an annual basis.
For 2007/08 the housing service showed some significant improvements and have now set their targets for an even better future.
This years performance indicatiors showed that:
- The number of households assisted with the Rent Deposit Guarantee Scheme went up by 15 in 2007/08, with 18 households now recieving assistance compared to 3 the previous year and massively exceeding the council's target of 8.
- The average length of stay in hostel accommodation of households which include dependent children or a pregnant woman and which are unintentionally homeless and in priority need has decreased by an average of 2 weeks, however there is still a need for improvement in this area and the targets for 2008/09 and 2009/10 aim to reduce this steadily into the future.
The housing needs service are committed to adding value and will ensure equal access to services, promote social inclusion and recognise cultural diversity.
Surrey Heath Borough council housing service aim to promote the social, environmental and economic well-being of the local community, and to tackle inequalities, through a sustainable best value service provided by or for the Council, and through local leadership, working with and influencing partners to realise our vision for the borough.
